Pickleball Direct Era (2011)

CartDigital’s story begins when Founder Ethan McAfee starts selling pickleball paddles from his townhouse in Northern Virginia, initially operating under the name Pickleball Direct.

Our First Office (2013)

After being asked to leave his townhouse community, Ethan moves his growing business into its first office space in Alexandria, Virginia. The product range expands beyond pickleball gear to include a variety of sporting goods like running shoes and hockey sticks.

Top Reseller Era (2014–2018)

CartDigital’s reseller business takes off, positioning itself in the top 1% of Amazon sellers. With a deep understanding of Amazon’s platform, we pivot to offer comprehensive strategy, management, and operational services to brands.

Investments Secured (2019)

CartDigital raises $5.8 million in Series A funding, led by Mercury Fund, with additional investments from CincyTech, SaaS Venture Capital, Dundee Venture Capital, and Capital One co-founder Nigel Morris.

Entering Growth Mode (2019–2020)

CartDigital expands its team to nearly 100 experts across Amazon strategy, advertising, content, platform operations, and supply chain. We partner with top global brands across various industries, including beauty, fashion, and gaming.

We're Here to Stay (2020–2021)

CartDigital becomes a dominant Amazon-as-a-Service provider, managing more than $200 million in annual GMV, cementing its position as a leading player in the marketplace services space.

Acquired by Cart.com (2024)

CartDigital is acquired by Cart.com, further strengthening its Amazon marketplace expertise and expanding its reach for mid-market and enterprise brands. This acquisition allows us to provide even more comprehensive, unified solutions that drive exceptional growth for our clients.
